My kids LOVED when I did this uno in 2012 and I know they will love the 2016 unit too!!!
I set Up a Cute Election Station in my room.
First, I made a cute bulletin board and voting station using all the posters.
Then, I made a cute cox and used space boards to create voting booths.
The kids voted two at a time.
After the kids voted, they received a badge.
So much FUN hah!!!
Scholastic has a great page called "Meet The Candidates" that
teaches kids the difference between the two candidates.
My kiddos love technology and this is a fun way to get the New Year started! This order includes an adorable New Year's CRAFTIVITY and WRITING ACTIVITIES. Included: templates to create the New Years craftivity!!! You can use the writing templates for the craftivity and create a booklet or just use one paper.
The writing templates are on I-PADS and I-PODS. So cute! -3 templates on ipods (the i-pods come in different sizes for the optional craft project: holding the i-pod in hand) -6 templates on i-pads "Game On in 2016" and "Tweeting in the New Year!" 2 of the papers give the students an opportunity to write New Year's Goals The other 4 are fill in the blanks (i.e., I want to learn to.....I want to get better at..., biggest lesson I learned...favorites...etc).
The templates below show 2015 but they have all been revised to 2016.
When does school start for you??? I go back in 2 weeks! For the first month in Kinderworld, we do a quick review of all the letters A-Z. When I start the Daily 5, we focus on 1-2 letters a week.
For Word Work during The Daily 5, I use the following 2 Packs: 1. My ABC Handout Book 2. ABC Practice Pages.
Both Packs can be used in several ways:
1.Use a page a day as morning work.
2.Create a journal and use it during small group instruction.
3.use the pages/journal during the DAILY 5 for Word Work.
4.Use the pages/journal as a literacy center.
5.Use it as ABC review in the beginning of the school year.
